The
idea of this page is to let new members know exactly
who will be teaching them in any of The Fusions clubs.
Doing anything for the first time can be a little
daunting and evenl intimidating to begin
with.
We always do everything in our power to make everyone
feel relaxed and welcome to all our sessions. Introducing
you to our instructors like this is just another way
of giving you prior knowledge before the class so
you know who you arelooking for when you arrive.
Some
say that The Fusions instructors do not come from
our dimension and explaining their unearthly talents
remains a mystery.

Sensei Nick began his Kickboxing training when
he was nineteen (around 1997). After a number
of years he decided to establish a place to call
his own. This place was The Fusion. The Fusion
now operates under the banner of 'Shorai Martial
Arts International' who's Chief Instructor is
Sensei Joe Tierney 8th Dan.
On his journey of establishing The Fusion (along
with his wife Michelle) Sensei Nick has taken
part in countless competitions and as a result,
has won numerous local, regional, national and
European titles including WAKO British Champion.
Further more, Nick has competed in the WKA World
Championships and 'The Clash of The Titans' on
two separate occasions.
Along
with Sensei Michelle, Nick has helped secure no
less than three Fusion students, a place on the
WKA England team. Two of which have come away
with Bronze medals from a World Championships.

Sensei
Michelle began training in June 1989. Since then she
has won countless titles, none of them even worthy of
mentioning in comparison to her first place ranking
of WKA World Champion. Since winning a World Gold medal
she has retired from competing, being content with her
prize and just enjoying her training and teaching.

Many years ago Sensei Adam (or Will, as we call him)
used to train in a small padded room which formed part
of a psychiatric hospital. No he wasn't mentally ill
(although we're still not too sure), this was the club
where he was to meet Sensei Nick.
Since then Sensei Adam's training, after hard work,
effort and determination has led him to Black Belt status.
Although, all the time never forgetting Sensei Nick
and Michelle's persistence and teaching skills.
"It’s not easy learning something like kickboxing.
But it is made easier when you enter a welcoming dojo,
like The Fusion" - Sensei Adam

Sensei
Sophie is the Fusion's first home-grown Female Black
Belt and is also the youngest. In this day in age it
is very rare for anyone to attain such an achievement
and even though she maybe younger and smaller than the
other Black Belts, they still push her just as hard.
The results - an extremely focused, positive and determined
young athlete.
Despite
suffering numerous set backs in her training (one of
which was nearly breaking her back falling off her horse)
Sensei Sophie still carried on through her pain and
came back tougher and stronger than ever.
More
recently she has sat a number of GCSE's a year in advance
(and passed with A stars) proving that it is just as
important to maintain the body as well as the mind if
you are to succeed and that your training needn't be
sacrificed just because you have other goals.

Sensei Stephen began his training when he was only nine years old. He was encouraged to do so by his elder brother (Sensei Nick) as he wanted him to get into shape and start being able to look after himself.
Stephen remained with his brother when he decided to set up the Fusion along with Sensei Michelle and has remained loyal to the club ever since. Despite taking a years gap in his training, Sensei Stephen has returned bigger and stronger, both mentally and physically; with all those years of martial arts knowlegde still intact.
