Competition
Rules and Expectations..
The
Fusion competes in a number of different association's tournaments,
each with their own slightly different rules and ways of scoring.
So for this reason we will not list them. What we will mention
is the basic guidelines and more importantly how The Fusion
conducts itself.
Fighters
Conduct
All
fighters should be polite and show the upmost respect to everyone
else around them both on and off the mat. Instructors and
coaches will do their best to keep track of when fights will
be starting but ultimately it will be up to themselves to
listen out for their categories being called. Before competitors
are due to fight they should make sure they are fully warmed
up and stretched off, this also helps to release a bit of
nervous energy.
Once on the mat, before the fight starts the fighter should
always bow to his or her coach and possibly even to the ref/judges
then touch gloves with their opponent.
During
the fight the competitor should try to listen to his/her coaches'
advice and never loose their composure by arguing or throwing
a tantrum.
After the fight has finished and the winning result has been
given competitors should again touch gloves. Then they should
make their way to the opposing coach and bow to them finishing
with a final bow to their own coach.
Spectators
Encouragement
can be shouted as loud as you like but please do not be offensive
or overly aggressive. You must observe boundaries that may
be set up and stay behind them. Never interfere with the proceedings
of the fight, this is the job of the coaches, who are experienced
enough to deal with matters if they arise.
In
General
Competitions can be long and drawn out sometimes so it's always
best to be prepared. Both fighters and spectators should take
a packed lunch and a drink just incase there are no shops
nearby or they are closed (comps are usually on a Sunday).
The Fusion always fights as a team and therefore nobody should
leave until all the club has finished fighting. Instructors
and coaches will usually fight towards the end of the day
after they have been supporting everyone else in their fights.
It would be extremely bad manners to then disappear without
returning the favour.
