Sensei Nick began his Kickboxing training when he was nineteen (around 1997). His intentions were only for self defence purposes, but he soon acquired a taste for competitions. He won some impressive titles like British and European Champion (2001) in the semi-contact divisions before switching to light continuous.
Nicks most impressive record was in 2009 when he won the WAKO Judgment day and WAKO British Championships. He also had the honor of fighting for Team Shorai for the second time in the Clash of the Titans 'Champion of Champions' and also fought it out to the quarter finals of the WKA World Championships.
More recently he succeeded in a life ambition to open a self contained dojo, where he now enjoys training potential future champions.

Sensei Michelle began training in June 1989. Through her career she has competed in both junior and ladies sections, collecting a number of British titles from various associations on her way.
Michelle then set out to gain an international title and has represented Great Britain on several occasions. In 2002 she won a World Bronze medal in continuous fighting but this wasn't enough for her. It was in 2003 where she took a WKA World Silver medal (points fighting) and a GOLD for light continuous.
Content with her prize of a World Gold medal she has retired from competing and now takes pleasure in training just for fitness and passing on her knowledge to others.

Many years ago Sensei Adam began his training at Kickboxing club in Huddersfield where he met Sensei Nick. The club sadly disbanded but Adam continued in his kickboxing pursuits at The Fusion with Nick and Michelle.
Over time, Sensei Adam's hard work and determination during training has led him to Black Belt status. He remains loyal and appreciative of Sensei Nick and Michelle's persistence and teaching skills.
"It’s not easy learning something like kickboxing. But it is made easier when you enter a welcoming dojo, like The Fusion" - Sensei Adam

Grade: Black Belt 1st Dan
Occupation: Student |

Sensei Sophie is the Fusion's first home-grown Female Black Belt and is also the youngest to reach this standard at the Fusion. In this day in age it is very rare for anyone to attain such an achievement and even though she maybe younger and smaller than the other Black Belts, she still trains just as hard. The results - an extremely focused, positive and determined young athlete.
Despite suffering numerous set backs in her training (one of which was nearly breaking her back falling off her horse) Sensei Sophie still carried on through her pain and came back tougher and stronger than ever.
She has recently sat a number of GCSE's a year in advance (and passed with A stars) proving that it is just as important to exercise the mind as well as the body. Training need not be sacrificed just because you have other life goals.

Sensei Stephen began his training when he was only nine years old. He was encouraged to do so by his elder brother (Sensei Nick) as he wanted him to get into shape and start being able to look after himself.
Stephen remained with his brother when he decided to set up the Fusion along with Sensei Michelle and has remained loyal to the club ever since. Despite taking a years gap in his training, Sensei Stephen has returned bigger and stronger, both mentally and physically; with all those years of martial arts knowledge still intact.
